SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim and Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua have been sued by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas).
Khalid told a press conference here Tuesday that he was being sued for a statement he made about the water concessionaire company's Budi Fund.
Under the fund, Syabas collected money from those willing to pay for the free water provided by the state government, for charity purposes.
Pua, who was also at the press conference, is being sued for making a statement in a Chinese newspaper that Syabas should return water rights to the state.
"Our lawyers have been instructed to prepare our defence. I will be defended by Edmund Bon while YB Tony Pua has appointed Gobind Singh Deo to represent him," Khalid said.
Both Khalid and Pua received their respective legal notices on Feb 11.
